Where the Mountains Begin

Every Renisetté story starts with the unexpected — a road, a view, a moment, or something no itinerary could ever fully plan. A number of years ago, while travelling through the Verdon region in the South of France en route to the Monaco Grand Prix, we experienced one of those moments that still gets talked about today..

Through the Verdon Mountains

Our convoy was making its way through one of Europe’s most spectacular driving regions, with a small group of guests and supercars enjoying the mountain roads, open views and unmistakable feeling of being deep in the South of France.

The Valley Fly-By

As we drove through the mountains, two French fighter jets suddenly appeared, flying low through the valley and seemingly level with the convoy. Over the radios, there was plenty of joking that the flyby had been specially arranged for our guests.

A Brief Moment of Drama

Later that afternoon, after regrouping with our authorised film crew further along the route, we were told that local authorities had briefly investigated activity in the area after a drone nearby had triggered a security alert close to a dam.

Handled Without Disruption

Thankfully, everything was quickly clarified and resolved without issue. Most of our guests were completely unaware at the time and simply continued enjoying the route, the cars and the extraordinary scenery around them.

Some travel moments cannot be planned, scripted or repeated. They simply happen, becoming part of the story forever. For us, that day in the Verdon mountains remains another unforgettable Renisetté moment.
